Improving health information designed for consumers and carers
Thursday 26 November 2020
On Thursday 26th November 2020 the Canberra Health Literacy Network presented it’s second webinar – Improving health information designed for consumers and carers. The webinar was presented by Associate Professor Sophie Hill from the Centre for Health Communication and Participation at La Trobe University.
The webinar focused on:
- how to write informative and engaging health information for consumers and carers
- how to improve health literacy by communicating complex health information clearly
- how to partner with consumers to meet their information needs.
We had over 190 people register for the webinar, which is a good indication of how important the issue of producing high quality patient and consumer resources is for consumers and services in the ACT.
You can find a recording of the presentation here.
You can download a copy of the presentation slides here.
We would welcome your feedback on the webinar via a very short survey.
The webinar draws on an excellent resource developed by the Research Centre for Health Communication and Participation at La Trobe University called the “Guide to Producing and Sourcing Quality Health Information”. The Guide was developed for Safer Care Victoria and is designed to help health services produce or source quality health information for people who use their services. You can find a copy of the guide here.
